IMAX Movies
For the month of July the following films will be shown at the Bristol IMAX Omnitheater:
The Living Sea
The Living Sea invites you on a voyage of discovery through a colorful and vibrant underwater world. Follow scientists as they explore the world ocean from the remote islands of Palau to the coasts of Nova Scotia, surf Hawaii's pipe-line, and join the U.S. Coast guard during a daring rescue in some of the world's roughest seas!
Runtime - 40 minutes
Mystic India
Take an adventure through India's vast terrain and discover its majestic natural beauty and astounding history. Experience India's geographic and cultural diversity, incredible landscape and architecture, and witness the spectacular festivals and traditions of the nation. The film leads audiences from the icy peaks of the Himalayas to the scorching deserts and tropical rainforests all through the eyes of Neelkanth, an Indian boy on a spiritual quest. His journey crosses through the fields, rivers and small villages, learning about the unbelievable beauty and achievements of the land and its people.
Runtime - 45 minutes
The Human Body
Three years in the making, THE HUMAN BODY provides a visually mesmerizing, visceral experience of what takes place beneath our skin. Plunge right into the action and follow a tomato on its journey through the biological blender of our stomach, and accompany a red blood cell into the pumping chamber of the body's engine room: the heart, all through the most sophisticated medical imaging available and specially adapted to the power and detail unique to the IMAX format.
Runtime - 45 minutes
Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian
It's a new "Night" and "Museum" for Ben Stiller, who is joined by several other stars from the original film, as well as new characters from history -- including Amy Adams as famed aviatrix Amelia Earhart, Hank Azaria as villainous Egyptian pharaoh Kahmunrah, Christopher Guest as Russian tyrant Ivan the Terrible and Alain Chabat as Napoleon. Owen Wilson is back as cowboy Jedediah, and Robin Williams again rides into history as Teddy Roosevelt. The centerpiece of the film will be bringing to life the Smithsonian Institution, which houses the world's largest museum complex with more than 136 million items in its collections, ranging from the plane Amelia Earhart flew on her nonstop solo flight across the Atlantic and Al Capone's rap sheet and mug shot to Dorothy's ruby red slippers and Archie Bunker's lounge chair. No major film has ever shot inside the Smithsonian in Washington ... until NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM: BATTLE OF THE SMITHSONIAN.
Runtime - 120 minutes
