Jim Delaney Memorial Fundraiser

Our dear friend and family member, James (Jim) E. Delaney II, 35, died tragically in a landscaping accident at his home on Saturday, May 10, 2008. Jim was a loving husband and father. He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Erica Jaeger Delaney and sons Matthew, 7 and Zachary, 6.

Jim Delaney was an amazing member of his community and will truly be missed by all. He was involved in many community service activities over the years including membership in the South Onondaga, Onondaga Hill and Howlett Hill Fire Departments. He participated in various youth sporting leagues by coaching and sponsoring many youth teams in the community.

Jim was an individual with great work ethic. He worked countless hours making the community a beautiful place. Jim was employed by the Town of Onondaga. He also owned and operated JD Landscaping. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone whether it was a family member, a friend of 30 years or a complete stranger.

A graduate of West Genesee High School, class of 1991,he was an amazing lacrosse player and contributed to his team winning a state championship. This is also where he met his wife Erica in 1991.

On Sunday, October 5, 2008, a fundraiser is being held at the Pepsi International Pavilion at the New York State Fairgrounds from 1:00 – 6:00. Proceeds from the fundraiser will go directly to Jim’s family.

We are collecting any type of donations to help make this fundraiser a success so that the years to come can be a little easier for Erica and the boys.
