The sheer size and scale of the Everson’s exhibition spaces, designed by I.M. Pei, allowed the Museum to acquire and exhibit monumentally sized work that contended with the large scale of the Museum’s sculpture court and cantilevered galleries. Monumental will feature familiar and rarely seen large-scale works from the Everson’s permanent collection to begin a community conversation about the benefits and challenges of exhibiting and responsibly caring for oversized work.
