Hip Hop Cardio is a super FUN dance fitness class featuring new and old school pop and hip hop music - songs you hear on the radio and sing along with. Easy to follow routines are choreographed to focus on cardiovascular fitness, and core strengthening. No dance experience is required and the class is open to all ages and fitness levels.

Instructor Cory Scholefield first began teaching fitness in the 1980’s - the age of high impact aerobics, headbands, leotards, tights, and leg warmers. This is where she first learned how to “build” a fitness class and choreograph routines to music. Over the years, she was involved in fitness, as either an instructor or a participant and group classes were always her first choice. In 2009 Cory discovered Zumba Fitness and decided to become an instructor and began teaching classes on a regular basis. In 2012 Cory met her husband Jim in one of her Zumba classes. He soon became an instructor and they began teaching classes as a team.

After students in their classes repeatedly asked for routines to songs they heard on the radio, Cory and Jim decided to create a class independent of Zumba® Fitness. They choreographed routines to popular Pop and Hip Hop music, combining Hip Hop dance moves with fitness and called it Hip Hop Cardio. The class was a great workout for all fitness levels and an instant hit. It has remained a favorite of students wherever the class is taught.
