May - June 2019 Art in the Library exhibit

The Community Library of DeWitt & Jamesville’s Art in the Library is Stephen Alexander Clark.

Upon moving to Central New York in 2015 following graduate school, Stephen Alexander Clark was inspired to create work that dealt with the idea of the surrounding landscape as a way to investigate culture, technology, and means to make an image. Clark has referenced farm geography, camouflage patterns, and most recently the ubiquitous stacks of firewood that appear seasonally throughout upstate New York. Stephen Alexander Clark earned his MFA in Painting from Maryland Institute College of Art. He currently lives in Cazenovia, NY with his family and is Assistant Professor, Painting at SUNY Cortland.  He has shown his work nationally and regionally.
His work is on display at the Community Library now through the end of June.
